Doubling Issue in Hierarchy

Hello All,

Need expertise in resolving the doubling issue in Consolidation hierarchy.

Overall scenario: Sometimes users request to make changes to the existing hierarchy. Where we have to move (Cons Units or Cons Groups) from Existing node to New node.

For that , we use below mentioned ways (not sure which one of these is best practice)

• Deleting the Cons Unit or Cons Group value from existing node and creating it in requested new node.
• By dragging and dropping from existing node to new node.

After saving the transport and moving it to Q system, We see that changes get doubled. That is they exist under both old and new nodes.

Team - Please suggest what would be the right procedure while working on the hierarchy changes and also to avoid doubling issues can you suggest any practices.

There is an SAP document regarding how this should be handled and it is not removing from old and entering in new node or drag and drop.

If you provide your email I will send the document to you.

In brief, the cons group master data of the old node must be updated with the period/year of divestiture and the new node will have a corresponding period/year of first consolidation.

Correct, when we do the hierarchy changes we do update the divestiture date.
