Please see the subject. There is a requirement to not track serialnumber at goods receipt and warehousetasks, the serialnumber only needs to be registered at production order. The client wants to track a serialnumber of a material that is part of a production assembly.

Is this possible in standard SAP EWM? I have found that it is possible to use serialnumbers on warehouselevel however this would require entering a serialnumber at GR and that is not desired. Would it be possible to create the serialnumber during production for this material and assign it to the production order?

Hi,

if you want to assign the SN to the production order, but not have it in the warehouse - why is that an EWM question? And I would think you would not have to look at the warehouse options for the serial number at all, but the regular SN profile.
