Different warehouse order creation rule for same product in different scenarios

Hello Experts,

Before I put forward my question let me explain the business requirement.

Case 1: Customer is working with complex outbound delivery process with steps Pick, Pack, stage. WOCR has storage process relevant for this case.

Case 2: In some specific cases, they are required to perform an additional step in which they have to repack parts in a new ship HU based on part number sequence in ascending/Descending order. Its a special request from customer and not a usual step.

To address case 2, I thought of using a different document type in ECC mapping it to EWM document type and determining different warehouse process type for this scenario. My POSC involves four steps here pick, pack, repack, stage. A different WOCR has storage process for case 2.

But now I have an issue here, warehouse order determination only considers activity area, activity and warehouse number to determine a rule which will remain same in case 1 and case 2 .

How to direct system to determine two different WOCR?

Regards,

Khushboo

Hi,

Can you elaborate on which conditions case 2 is used i.e. is it customer specific.

Rather than assigning WOCR to an Activity area. You can try assigning the WOCR to process type.

If it is customer specific is it possible to assign different delivery types which will be mapped to different process types

Yes Venkat,

That's exactly what I am doing now.Case 2 is not customer specific.Same customer sometimes might request to pack products differently.Thats why I have created a different document type and process type to call different storage process type.

If I understand correctly you are telling me system can call different WOCR based on WPT then how?

WPT is an option in one of the filter types so how do I do that?

Hi,

if you really consider a new WPT - then you can also have a different activity. so also a different WOCR can be found. Or assign it to the WPT, as suggested.

Juergen,Can you elaborate more how to differentiate WOCR on different WPT?

by entering the WOCR in the field Warehouse order creation rule (or similar) in the WPT... upper area, 5th or 6th field from the top.

Thankyou Venkat and Juergen.

I knew that option for WPT in item filter definition, but I was not sure if it will work.I tested in system and it works fine.

Hi,

It can be assigned in the warehouse process type.

I only assigned it in item filter definition and that item filter is assigned to WOCR.Options at these two places are going to make any difference?

Hi,

I think it will work the same. Only thing is you have to make sure the activity Area and WOCR assignment is maintained. Even if you have maintained process type in WOCR filter, if the above config is not maintained it will not select the right storage process. But assigning WOCR directly to process type will ensure irrespective of the activity area storage process will be selected.
