Determining Minimum Quantity as Percentage of Maximum Quantity in MAT1

Hello together,

is it possible that the Value for the field within /SCWM/MAT1 in Storaga type data "Min.Qty (%of Max. Qty) is determined by the system automatically?

I did the customizing "Define Storage Type Parameters for Slotting" and entered 15 in Max./Min. Qty.

After activating the values via /SCWM/SLOTACT it is not maintaining the value in MAT1.

Does somebody know why?

Thank you.

Hi Fatih,

'Min.Qty (% of Max. Qty)' filed is useful to calculate the minimum qty in the replenishment process.

In stead of giving minimum & maximum qtys to work with the REPL process, here we can maintain the maximum qty & Min.Qty (% of Max. Qty).  possible value is from 0 to 100 to calculate the percentage.

Example : maximum qty is 100

Min.Qty (% of Max. Qty) is 8 %

Whenever stock fails below the minimum qty ' 8' , REPL process can be initiated as per the configuration settings.

Hi C K Reddy,

thank you for your answer. For which reason is there the setting in Slotting customizing to set the % of Min.QTY? Do you know that? I thought this value will be written into the master data.

Hi,

During the slotting , to update the planned minimum quantity ,this filed is mandatory.

Even though this filed maintained at IMG settings against storage type, it is not flowing in to the product master storage type data , when trying to adopt the storage type data for product.

Thank you. I am processing the slotting but it is not updating the value of planned Minimum quantity.

I just have the planned maximum quantity and would expect that it is calculating the minimum quantity as a percentage from the max qty.. this is not working..

Hi,

do you think it makes sense that you manually maintain the "maximum quantity" in the warehouse product and then let the system calculate the minimum based on the percentage you enter in the slotting settings?

Please read the documentation for the topic "Define Storage Type Parameters for Slotting" and for the field "Multiplication Factor for Maximum Quantity in Storage Type".

The idea of slotting is that the system calculates the maximum and minimum numbers of a product in the warehouse. These numbers are based on requirements coming from your demand planning in SCM/APO.

I did not maintained the maximum quantity manually. It is calculating it via slotting. I just expected, that it is calculating the minimum quantity with with respect to the percentage in customizing "Define Storage Type Parameters for Slotting". But this is not working so far. Anyway thank you for your answer.

Oh, I understood you wrong, sorry for that!

If the maximum quantity is filled, yes, then of course the minimum should be filled when you have maintained the percentage calculation.

Is the maximum field filled as you expected it? I mean did you make a check if the number is what it should be?

Hi Jürgen,

thank you for your answers. Now I have another question.

I have a minimum quantity field in MAT1 and a Min as % from MaxQty field.

Which one is the "leading" one when I maintain both of them?

Hi,

with the "min as %" you mean the field in the slotting settings? I do not expect this field to have any direct impact. Only when you run the slotting process, it should change the value in the warehouse product. But that value should control the quantity for the replenishment.

And how about simply trying?
