Expected business scenario: Lower-level HUs (Cartons) should always be placed automatically on the highest-level HU (Pallet) when available.
Let's consider the following storage bin, which contains 1 Pallet with 3 Cartons on it, all containing the same products inside the cartons:
Now, I create a warehouse task to move a carton with the same product from storage bin 1080-01-01-01 to 1080-01-01-02. After confirming the task, the system keeps the same Destination HU number from the Source HU (Carton) instead of using the available Higher-Level HU (Pallet).
In the SPRO activity "Define Storage Types," I believed that setting the Putaway Control option Level: Add. to Stock to value H (Addition to Stock at Highest HU Level) would solve my issue, but it did not. Does anyone happen to know how I can achieve the expected business scenario?

For anyone who is interested, here is the solution to the problem:
The putaway was controlled by process-oriented storage control. The storage process had two steps defined, but the "Create Product/HU WT" checkbox was not checked. Once this checkbox was activated, all the customizing in the WPT worked as expected.
