Derived Business Transactions in TPM20

Hi,

Our user is seeing DBT postings in the posting journal TPM20 for the year end valuation that was posted on 31.03.23. He does not want to have these postings in FI and also wants to know what are these being used for?

Would appreciate expert help to explain the customer.

Hi Jyoti

Please share screen shot with Product type used and detail of transaction. Update type DBT* is in multiple transactions with different requirement. If its just DBT then its not part of standard SAP update type.

SPRO>Financial supply Chain Management>Treasury and Risk Management>Transaction Management>General>Accounting>Link to other accounting Components>Indicate update type relevant to Posting

If update type is marked for relevant that will post to FI. If not then flow will be Fixed without posting to FI.

Make sure Update type is not relevant then Process with Tcode: TPM18. Flow will be fixed without posting to FI.

Thank you for your inputs. What our user wants to know is why are these DBT postings setup in the first place, what is the business requirement for posting to FI.
