Demand Selection in Planning profile in IBP R/S

Hi Experts,

Is there any smart way to define which demands the planning profile should consider during the run? There's no option given by SAP in the app to choose what demands we prefer the planning profile to consider in it's run. This functionality however would require the planning profile to be able to do a 'delta' run to effectively make use of the same.

Also, I don't see anything related to planning profile functionalities in the roadmap at least till the end of 2024, are we to not expect anything in the planning profile functionalities other than what we have currently in IBP R/S? Some of the missing functionalities in planning profile would be a road-block for a few customers, like -

• Retain pegging for firm orders [like sales order to stock]
• Do delta planning [w/o disturbing pegging from previous run]
• Facilitate interval planning [by using calendar months / time profile / defining horizons]
• Demand Horizon Selection [start / end date only for demands]
• Supply Horizon Selection [start / end date only for supplies]
• Demand Categories Selection [which demands to be considered in the run]
• Supply Categories Selection [which categories to be considered in the run]
• Planning Horizon Selection [start / end date for overall planning run]

Without this, with a simple 'full' run all the time, the supply will end up creating overbuild in the BOM levels if you use fixed lot size. I am sure many customers would need these basic functionalities, just wanted to have this question open in the network to get the feedback from the other implementations.

Hello Guru,

For your question on 'Definition of Demands' , Does 'Demand Selection' in Planning Run Profiles suit your requirement?
Do you want to model your demands differently in a more complex definition?

Also, on the Supply Category Selection, If you do not wish to make a particular supply element category not eligible for planning, you can choose not to bring it only to IBP from S/4 using either Integration Model selection or BADI Customization?
