Hi ,
I am working on a delivery note in S4.
Can you suggest me what is a good option to print the delivery note?
1. From the EWM?
2. From S4 Delivery?

Hello harry777
Regarding the question which one is better to print a delivery note from ERP or from EWM, I can think of two deciding factors here - system availability and output implementation technique. Moreover they depend on whether you run embedded or decentralized EWM. Let's analyze those two factors:
System availability and embedded EWM - it really doesn't matter if you print a delivery note from ERP or EWM as EWM is in fact the same system as ERP. If ERP is down, then EWM is also down and delivery notes can't be printed.
System availability and decentralized EWM - I would go with printing out of EWM. Typically EWM is deployed in decentralized scenario to make EWM independent from the connected ERP and provide higher EWM availability.
Implementation technique - EWM output processing is based on PPF actions, see the response from nemethes In contrast S/4HANA in the area of Shipping uses output determination (NAST table, NACE transaction) - see SAP Help Output Management for Shipping
In my mind that boils down to the following decision tree:
1. if decentralized EWM, the print from EWM with PPF actions to take advantage from higher EWM availability
2. if embedded EWM, decide which output technique you prefer:
a) if PPF, print from EWM
b) if output determination, print from ERP

Hello harry777
Delivery notes can be printed from S/4 delivery with LD00, LD01, LDS0 output types.

Hi Harry,
I would suggest to print it from EWM, e.g. with the following PPF:
Application Name: /SCDL/DELIVERY
Action Profile: /SCDL/FD_OUT
Action Definition: /SCWM/FD_OUT_PRINT
