Deconsolidation

Hello Experts ,

I'm having one issue with Deconsolidation.

When a product X and Y are packed in the same HU, the system works fine. There is no issue.

However, sometimes vendors send only X or Y products or both in different HUs individually. In this case, also the system is considered for Deconsolidation which we do not want.

The requirement is when the product comes individually or separate system should not go to the DECON Work Center.

Can anybody help me in achieving this? Thanks in Advance.

Thanks and Regards

KP

Hello Pavan,

There could be multiple ways to handle this. One thing coming to mind as of now is to use Max P and Max D values. In configuration 'Define Attributes for Deconsolidation' use Max P and Max D=2. This is with a common understanding the number of Products in a HU>=2, Deconsolidation Process will be activated. Having said that, you also have to activate Rule based Deconsolidation in POSC set up.

POSC set up. In below example, it is assumed HU coming from vendors will have common HU type group even if they send 2 Products in 1 Pallet( HU) or send them individually. Hu type group is same.

To get the Decon Bin determination, configure below.

You can then enter either a work center of type Deconsolidation Station, or directly enter a storage type, storage section, and storage bin. If you enter a work center, EWM finds the storage bin that is assigned to this work center.

Now do a quick test.

1) When 2 products are coming in a single HU.

PIC1.png

The HU ending with 71 is diverted to Deconsolidation station because Maximum number of Decon HU MAX D=2.

PIC2.png

2) Now Pack 2 Products into 2 different Hus, expectation is Vendor is sending 2 different Products into 2 different HU.

PIC3.png

In below screen shot, system is directly moving the 2 different Hus directly to Final bin because Max D<2 and hence Decon step was skipped.

However, Max D and Max P calculation will fail if product is batch managed and vendor is sending multiple batches of same product into 1 Hu. In that case, even if you maintain Max D and Max P=2, and HU contains 1 Product but more than 2 batches, Decon step will be activated.

Its worth to check advanced feature of Deconsolidation released by SAP for customers using Decon with Hu type check w/o Packspec.

Hello Shailesh ,

Thank you for your quick response sir.

I have made the given changes in my system like below :

1. Changed the MaxP and MaxD values.

2. Changed the Settings in the POSC  > Deconsolidation step .

3. Added the HU Group for the deconsolidation work center.

After the above changes, I have created the Inbound Delivery with 2 Materials having different St. Types . in single HU . However, system is not creating the further steps post confirmation of Unloading step .

could you please help me in finding where I went wrong ? Appreciated your response sir.

Thanks and Regards

KP.

"could you please help me in finding where I went wrong ?"

So you got the first WT, confirmed this, but the second is not triggered? Did you check the inbound queue, there it is probably stuck.

All the above is no official SAP statement.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hello Juergen ,

Thanks for your message. I Couldn't understand why need to check the Inbound Queue. However, I verified the queue and also in SLG1. I didn't find any clue.

When the delivery is POSC and the unloading is completed, the system has to create automatically the next step Deconsolidation or NO Deconsolidation based on the POSC rule base. I have maintained the MaxD and MaxP =2 to achieve  " if the single product arrived  (or ) a single material in the HU , system should skip the Deconsolidation and should propose the Putaway directly."

Thanks and Regards

Hi @PAVAN_KULKARNI,

I suppose you could do this by using the quantity classification in the storage type search sequence (determination) for your deconsolidation step. For example, you can have the system determine the final storage type, which sets the putaway status to "completed", if the quantity classification is that of a (full) single-product-HU. The storage process will then be finished. If the quantity classification is not set, you could have the system determine the deconsolidation work center. The storage process will remain open and you can then execute the deconsolidation process. Since the storage process is still open, you can have the system determine the final storage type after deconsolidating.

By the way, for this I'm assuming you are alreayd using POSC with steps deconsolidation and putaway.

Hope this helps.
