Date calculation in TM Freight Order/Booking

Hi, I’m looking at confirming the dates that we can maintain in TM (embedded in S/4Hana) and possibly auto populate some of these dates. For dates such as the pick up acceptance and requested start/end dates, we can populate by maintaining the PUDR settings including condition table. However, I am unclear about some of these other dates and hence am seeking clarifications here.

1. Load and unload dates in FO/FB - can these dates also be populated via the PUDR settings?

2. Cargo Cut-off date under Pick-Up Location section in FO/FB - can this date be auto populated? I tested with schedule and departure dates setup but the field is still not populated when I created the FO. Hence, I want to double check whether this is the right set up or does the date only get updated at the stage level?

3. Availability date - can this date be auto populated?

4. Lastly, fields that we used to get in the shipment document under LE such as check in date and shipment start and end dates, what are the correct date fields that represent them? I am thinking it would be the departure and arrival dates at the stage level?

Appreciate any pointers on the above.

cheers

Hi @SFC3 ,

I tried to answer but it looks like not straight forward becasue time depends on different parameters/Masterdata. Please see my opinion and let us know if any questions.

Hi Ajit, thanks a lot for the references given. I think I have question #1 and #4 sort of answered. Re #2 and #3, based on your response, I take it that I am on the right track to use Schedule to auto populate the fields? As I mentioned, I tried to test that out on the cargo cut-off date but did not succeed to-date. Also where do I maintain the lead time for the calculation of the availability date?

Hi Ajit, thanks a lot for the screenshots. Can you please clarify whether the second screenshot is a freight booking? Cheers.

Hi @SFC3 ,

Please see cut off and availability (2 and 3) in Schedule Master Data and could you fill and test with Proper Scenario...Screenshot 2025-02-26 at 9.45.32 AM.png

PS: I even confused 🙂 since lack of documentation

Thanks Ajit. That was where I maintained the cut-off days too, except mine is for the road freight. I am using the cockpit to do the FO creation. Do I need to maintain anything else to ensure that the system is using the schedule for the calculation and population of the dates? Cheers.
