Database commit after transport import

Hello all,

could you please explain me, how exactly DB commit work in case of transport import? We imported transport request into production system during database backup run. When we restored quality system with this backup, the change from transport was not applied in quality system. So, we are wondering, where the issue is... Is it DB commit issue?

Hi Martin,

This is very unlikely to be a commit issue, if it had been you would have gotten an error during the execution of the transport on the source system. As you mentioned you did the transport in the middle of a backup which you subsequently used to restore a system. It sounds more feasible that the backup was completed before the transport was actually executed (or during) and that the subsequent archive logs were not applied during the restore, or that a point in time recovery was used.

In any case you will be able to see the transport history and check that the transport was successful on source from your TMS domain controller.
