Dear Team,

Getting below issue during receiving the stock once click on the tab "Stk can be added" as my business is not using stock putaway and removal strategy, as using manual selection to keeping stock at Bin level.

Is there any option to receive the stock for all line items in one storage Bin/other rather than select one by one header line item with a magnifier glass as the user is not comfort this action?

Request to need your suggestion.

Thanks,

Akhilesh

One more additional info-

For your 'add to stock ' option on WT creation screen to work, below are must

1- Storage type where you want to add the stock must be part of storage type search sequence

2- Addition to existing stock must be allowed for the storage type

there will be zero result when addition to existing stock is not allowed for the storage type.

And you will get error message like you have got if storage type search is not defined for the storage type.

Hi, I have maintained the storage type search sequence and an Addition to existing stock must be allowed for the storage type. but still not getting add to stock option on the WT creation screen to work.

What steps missing to overcome this issue.

are you still getting the error saying storage type search not defined like previous one?

If you don’t get that error message but no result to which stock can be added then you don’t have matching stock.

Can you check if you really have stock of this material in the storage type where you want to add stock to

Now, the storage type search error is resolved and material stock is matching in the report but still, this bin does not appear in the tab "Stk can be added" during warehouse task creation.

Thanks,

from the screenshot i see you haven’t selected any line

You first need to double click a line to select then only you can see results in down part of the window as this is at item level

Hello

On your screen above, there is no option to set one default bin for all the lines.

Also, as mentioned by Juergen, if you need to provide option to select bin by warehouse operator , then setup WT generic settings for the storage type. System will create WT with just storage type with no destination bin. While confirming WT, user needs to scan the destination bin.

If you have only storage bin in one storage type where you want to store all the parts then setup put away rules as 'general storage' in storage type settings and allow mixed stock.

If you want to allow addition to existing stock stock where system shall found out the existing bin where matching stock quants are there , then setup put away rules as 'addition to existing stock' (check in the storage settings what are the options available.)

If you don't want to utilize benefits of EWM because your warehouse is lean or does not need many basic functions of EWM, then better work at IM level with fixed bin assignment at plant/storage location view or setup lean WM to have pick list .

Check options available for put away rule and WT generic option and setup accordingly.

Hi,

"Getting below issue during receiving the stock once click on the tab "Stk can be added" as my business is not using stock putaway and removal strategy, as using manual selection to keeping stock at Bin level."

Then: why do you use a warehouse management system at all? The easiest (and cheapest) solution then would be to enter a bin for each product in the material master and just work on plant / storage location level.

If the answer is: because they still want a picking list: then the next solution would be Lean-WM.

And if you do not use fixed bins (which does then not any sense), but the person doing the putaway selects the bin: you need at least a storage type search with one storage type, and in there you generate generic WTs, means without bin assignment.

All the above is no official SAP statement.

Want to learn EWM?

Check for EWM courses: https://training.sap.com/trainingpath/Applications-Extended+Warehouse+Management-EWM+in+S4HANA

Get a SAP Learning Hub Subscription: https://training.sap.com/learninghub

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!

And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi Juergen,

Basically, my client is moving from stores to warehouses concept (S4HANA implementation) and it's under the commissioning phase. as of now, they are not able to provide a putaway and removal strategy. Going forward, they will provide once, they use to from warehouse processes. so, the storage types search sequence can do to manage the stock at the time of receiving.

Hi,

OK, that make sense. So for putaway the best option is to create WTs generic, as described. For outbound this does not really work, the system would always propose a bin to pick from, then the picker would have to enter an exception code and choose another bin in order to override this.
