Customizing in TM

Hi Gurus,

In TM, if a new functionality is to be added (business gap), what is the best and feasible practice / option

1. Make a copy of the standard code into Z Code and add the functionality 2. Add the functionality by changing the standard code

I prefer the option2 . The modification supported by SPAU during TM upgrade.
