Hi Experts,
I noticed that there is a big bulk of order generated by CTM in my Distribution Center.
Example:
Forecas
05.2016 = 10,000
06.2016 = 20,000
07.2016 = 50,000
08.2016 = 10,000
09.2016 = 20,000
CTM generated the following orders:
05.2016 = 10,000
06.2016 = 20,000
07.2016 = 80,000
Why did CTM not create the orders for periods 7 to 9 but instead bulked up on 07.2016? The order is too huge.
Sincerely, Ria

Ria,
Sounds like you have allowed early demand fulfillment in your profile and/or the CTM configuration. Depending upon how the rest of your supply chain is configured, CTM could easily have decided that early fulfillment is the best solution.
You might want to consider restricting how early you allow for demands to be solved.

Hi Dogboy,
Thanks for the reply. Looks like we are getting overload in the plant.. I tried to run each profile that we are using, the same thing happens in DC and Plant which causes the overload. This is also happening for just one material.
Example:
Forecas
05.2016 = 10,000
06.2016 = 20,000
07.2016 = 50,000
08.2016 = 10,000
09.2016 = 20,000
CTM generated the following orders:
05.2016 = 10,000
06.2016 = 20,000
07.2016 = 80,000
Btw, early demand fulfillment is not selected in the ctm profile.
Thank you very much for all your replies.
Sincerely,
Ria
Hi Ria
I would suggest to test the same article by changing the planning mode/strategy in the CTM profile.
You can execute the planning with Plan all resources Infinitely. This will help us to understand if we are getting the results due to capacity constraint on any other topics.
In case we get similar results then we check the Master data and other configurations.
Please play around and let us know if it helps.
Thanks

.
Ria,
Ah, this is the first time you have mentioned capacity overload. So, I assume that at least one of your manufacturing resources is supposed to be finitely planned. You need to find out which resource or combination of resources SHOULD be constraining the plan, and then figure out why it isn't.
FYI if there is no early fulfillment set in the profile itself, you still have to look at the configuration to see what (if any) early fulfillment is allowed.

Hi SAP Experts,
Thank you very much for all your help. We have already found out the cause of the issue. The resource time stream is not updated and it is only up to 2016.
We will be updating the resource through this program /SAPAPO/CRES_CREATE_LC_RES so as to extend the time stream and the plant will then be creating orders up to the end of the planning period.
Sincerely,
Ria
