Cross-Plant Demand prioritization in TS Optimizer

Experts:

I have customer demand & cross plant demand for the same material. With Supply OPT, I want to be able to prioritize all my A & B customers ahead of the Cross-plant demand, followed by Customers of type C (we run segmentation).. We’ve non-delivery cost rates for customer demand & independent demand that could be used, but what about cross plant demand ? Like Dep Loc Dem or outbound loc demand. I don’t see anything for it. Would I use the IPU* KF's for this purpose?

Example: (per week)

Prod A, Cust A & B, Demand - 100pc

Prod A, Cross-plant demand (from a different Sub-network plant) - 100pc

Prod A, Cust C, Demand - 100 pc

Available capacity = 200 pc

I want to be able to give Cust A & B their 100pc, followed by the Cross-plant demand - 100 pc

Cheers

Hello Anand,

component demands of not selected productions are currently treated pseudo-hard. I.e. they are prioritized over your A & B customers.
We received this requirement of a different prioritization for component demands also from other customers and are thinking on solution options, but I can't give you a timeline on this.

Currently you have only a modelling option:
You need to separate your subnetworks via transport sources (e.g. via additional non-storable dummy locations for your components). For the transport demands of not selected subnetworks you can then use key figure IPUNONDELIVERYCOSTRATE on planning level Product – Ship-To Location.

Kind regards,
Carsten

Danke Carsten for reinforcing my understanding. It would have helped if I had added the sub-network aspect to my example (pls see below) -

***************

Example: (per week)

Sub-network 123:

Prod M, Production Receipt - 100 pc

Prod A, Dep Production Demand - 100 pc (Prod A is a component of Prod M, in my example)

Sub-network XYZ:

Prod A, Cust A & B, Demand - 100pc

Prod A, Cross-plant demand (from a different Sub-network plant) - 100pc

Prod A, Cust C, Demand - 100 pc

Available capacity = 200 pc

I want to be able to give Cust A & B their 100pc, followed by the Cross-plant demand - 100 pc

*****************

To your modeling option suggestion - we already have 2 different sub-networks as shown above. I am assuming, I use Location-Product specific sub-network to control how the component (Prod A) gets planned (i.e. add Sub-nw 123 @ the plant where Prod A gets used as a component & Sub-nw XYZ where it is sold directly to the customer & manufactured) & then add the IPUNONDELIVERYCOSTRATE to the transport demands.

Hello Anand,

with cross-plant production no implicit transport is generated. Thus IPUNONDELIVERYCOSTRATE has no influence.

In your example you need:
Sub-Network 123:
Prod M at location L1 that consumes A at L1

Sub-Network XYZ:
Prod A at location L2 that supplies Sub-Network 123 via a location source and the customers A&B.

With this setup IPUNONDELIVERYCOSTRATE would be considered and you can prioritize A&B.

Cheers, Carsten
