Hello,
please help me with the following question:
If I have a new planning object generated in Excel and the specified combination cannot be created, it is possible to generate an error message (e.g. through a POPUP) ?
Thank you and greetings
Christopher
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Christopher,
In the current product design, the UI will not show any kind of error message if the combination is not created.
This is a limitation indeed.
If you want to request an enhancement in this regard, I recommend you to visit the IBP Influence Channel to send this as an improvement for the next releases:

Hi,
To create a new planning object from a planning view, the loaded key figure has to be stored and editable.
Please apply either of the below resolutions.
Note: "Edit Allowed" can be either of “System Editable” or “Editable in the Current in the Future” or “Editable in the Past” or “All Editable”.
https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2484312 - Create new planning objects at aggregated level
When you create a combination at an aggregated attribute, then system tries to create the underlying planning object combinations at base planning level of the key figure. It means that the aggregated level attribute should refer the base level (root attribute) to create a combination.
For example-
If region is an aggregated attribute in location master data and if you create combination at region level, system checks the locations IDs corresponding to the region and creates combination for all the locations IDs belonging to that particular region (assuming location ID is root).
But if there are additional root attributes in the planning level (for example Product ID) then system will create combination for all product IDs from product master data along with location ID belonging to the region.
Note: The above example is valid only for new values of aggregated attribute. If planning view already exists for the aggregated attribute (for example - combination at region already exists and new locations has been added to the region) then creating combination at same region will not create underlying objects for newly added location.
See SAP help for more detail on this -> Adding New Planning Objects to a Planning View
