Hello lovely SAP Community,

ERP: S/4 Hana Public Cloud

At the moment im trying to create a Purchase Order out of one Sales order. To Achive that, we are using the MRP Process utilizing the  "MRP Job" and Afterwards the "Create Purchase Order out of Purchase Requisition job".

Product ist Configureded with:

Strategy Group
Make-to-order production (20)

After Using MRP Run + Creating Purchase Order out of Purchase Requisition, we successfully have a Purchase Order with a reference to the Sales Document! Seems perfect and works Really good for one Sales Order.

We got a Problem when we start the whole Process with >1 Sales order as our goal is, to have exactly 1 Purchase Order to each Sales Order.

What we Aim for:
1. Positions within the Purchase order will be split by : Plant, Supplier (Configurations within the Create Purchase Order out of Purchase Requisition job" - Works like a Charm)
2. Each Sales Order schould Create exactly 1 Purchase order

However:
If we have 2 Sales Orders the MRP Process is mixing all Sales Orders together and Creating 1 Purchase Order with Positions split by Supplier, Plant and Material. We would like to aim for 2 Purchase Order with positions Split by Supplier, Plant and Material for Each Sales order.

Any Ideas how to achive an additional Split of Purchase Orders by Sales Order Reference?

Kind regards,
Philipp

Hello @Phil_P ,

The standard "Create Purchase Order from Purchase Requisition" job does not support splitting purchase orders by Sales Order reference. This is because the grouping logic is primarily based on supplier, plant, and material, not the sales document.

To achieve a 1:1 relationship between Sales Orders and Purchase Orders, you would need to explore a workaround using separate MRP areas or custom logic via side-by-side extension in SAP BTP. Alternatively, consider managing this via manual PO creation based on requisition references, though this reduces automation.

Let me know if you need further support

With kind regards
