Continue a production started the week before in SAP IBP without reconsidering the min lot size

Hi,

I was wondering, is there a way in SAP IBP time series to start production in week 1 (respecting the min lot size) and finish it in week 2 without reconsidering the min lot size?

Example:

Line capacity: 100 pieces/week

Min lot size: 80 pieces

Demand: 140 pieces

I need the option to produce 140 pieces, of which 100 in week 1 and 40 in week 2.

Thank you for your answers,

Have a nice day

Cross - Period lot sizing is currently not supported in IBP (TS / OBP)

Hello Francesco,

if it is always only the first planning period where you want to consider the minimum lot-size, you can set the discretization horizon to just 1 period. Please note that this option is only available for the optimizer.

Kind regards,
Carsten

Hi,

thank you for your answer.

do you mean in the optimizer setting?

If I understood well, that wouldn't be a complete solution as it's important that the min lot sizes are still considered on other products.

The request would be to consider the production of the same product on two consecutive weeks as one, so in the second week IBP shouldn't reconsider again the min lot size.

Yes, the discretization horizons can be found in the optimizer profile.

If you need the min lot size in other periods this workaround does not work.
Unfortunately I currently see no option to fulfill your requirement in TSBP.

You may want to submit this requirement in the Customer Influence Portal under category "Sales & Operations Planning".
