Consider Planning elements (Stocks) in IBP Time series planning

Hello Experts,

Is there a standard way of considering Open POs and STOs in IBP supply plan derived from SOP Heuristics?

We are running S&OP heuristics based on time series data with licenses for IBP Demand IBP S&OP.

We had this functionality in SAP APO SNP for considering open POs and STOs.

Is it possible to achieve this with Time series license or do we need Order series planning to have the desired results?

I am currently using the Unified planning area with Demand and S&OP filter and have not seen any key figures for POs or STOs and a way that Time series based planning consider POs or STOs during Heuristic run.

Will order series planning solve this issue?

Hello,

Alternatively, you can also use INVENTORYCORRECTION which is a standard supply planning key figure to input open purchase orders.

Hi Basu,

This requirement is very important when supply planning running in IBP system and real execution happens in ERP or S/4HANA.

In order to consider purchase requisition and stock transfer orders in IBP as time series from ERP system follow below steps.

1. Extract the ERP requisitions into excel file.

2. Create new key figures (Purchase Requisitions Input and Stock transfer order input at required planning level PERPRDLOCSOURC) and input these key figures to supply heuristic.

3. Upload the data from excel file to IBP manually or data jobs. (Same can be automated if technical consultant involves).

4. If you want to manually enter the value in excel UI then above steps 1 and 3 not required.

5. Run the supply planning and check the results.

You required time series license is enough to run this process and no need order series license.

Hi Lingaiah,

Thank you for the response. It really helps. What i understood that we need custom key figures and the standard configurations in IBP does not suffice. Please correct my understanding where i am wrong.

One query though, what we are looking for is say for example, Heuristics a proposed plan for 100 quantity.

But a PO/STO is present for a quantity of 40. The system should propose a PO/STO of 60.

Can Heuristics time series algorithm handle this requirement?

The simple solution (SAP standard configuration) is to aggregate the purchase requisitions (PR) / stock transfer orders (STO) and update in INITIALINVENTORY - Stock on Hand @ WKPRODLOC key figure, supply heuristics consider your requirements.

Continue to above solution write calculation to add custom key figures aggregates to INITIALINVENTORY - Stock on Hand @ WKPRODLOC key figure, supply heuristics consider your requirements.

Hello Everyone,

Along with open PO's can include FIRM PR's in SAP IBP Time series based planning. Did anyone setup this type planning with infinite huristics.

I would like to find a working scenario to include firm PR in heuristic run similar to open PO.

Please share some insights.

this is configuration question you create the new kf amfir P.O. at wkprodlocsrc ( prod loc sour I’d ) create calculation to equate this to minproduction key figure this way open P.O. can be included in time series and heuristic will respect mimprodand will not create supply plan
