Hi all,
Could anyone please explain to me the basic difference between the STRs (Stock Transfer Requisitions) that are created as a supply at the end of the Confirmation run in the Response Planning and the Deployment STRs (Deployment Stock transfer Requisitions) which is created as a supply at the end of the Deployment run in the Deployment Planning. It would be even better if you could make me understand the implications of this difference through a flow chart. As far as I have understood , Deployment STRs are created if the supplies are marked as Available to Deploy in the ATD Profile but I cannot understand what implication are we going to have whether it is STR or Deployment STR in the S4 Hana interface? I guess both will be converted to STO in SAP MM ,right ? Please feel free to send some additional presentations if someone has so that I can understand the difference better. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Sayan,
D-STRs are STRs generated by the deployment run, by transforming other order types defined as ATDs. "Normal" STRs are generated by the confirmation run. And yes, in S4, both will be converted to STOs.
You may find more details about D-STRs, from both the functional and technical perspective, in the SAP Help Portal Deployment Stock Transfer Requisitions.

Matheus

Hi Matheus, thank you for the link. But as a beginner , I am still struggling to understand the different between STRs and D-STRs from a functionality perspective. I feel that D-STRs are somewhat like a reservation where the stock can be used only for a particular sales Order/ forecast from a certain plant / Customer whereas the STRs are giving us unrestricted stock which can be used by any customers in that specific plant. Is that correct ? Please help.
Thanks once again in advance.
Regards,
Sayan
Hi Sayan,
STRs and D-STRs are the same. The difference is that D-STRs are marked with an X in the DEPLOYMENT field, while the STRs are marked as empty for the same field. If you refer to the flow diagram in the Deployment Stock Transfer Requisitions --> "Lifecycle from a Business Perspective" dropdown, D-STRs juts come from a deployment run in IBP, while STRs come from a confirmation run in IBP. In S/4HANA, both of them can be converted STOs normally.
As far as I know, there are no further restrictions. But other people can also share their insights.
Best regards,
Matheus
