Hi All,
Please help me to understand the concept of planning object in SAP IBP. Is it similar to CVC in SAP APO DP ?
I see that there are different planning objects for different key figure. Does it mean that individual key figure gets the dedicated planning objects
for example
Planning object Product ID / Customer ID / Customer Group at KF1
Planning object Product ID / Customer ID / Customer Group / Customer Region at KF 2
Is above scenario possible ? and why ? data for different planning objects can have based on Aggregation like CVC in APO DP.
Please help to understand.
Regards,
Prabhat
Hi ps_india,
These planning objects are possible and valid in IBP. They represent specific combinations of characteristics and key figures that you want to plan separately. By defining separate planning objects, you can focus on different levels of detail or aggregation for each key figure.
For example, KF1 might represent a higher-level aggregation or summary key figure that provides an overview at the product and customer group level. On the other hand, KF2 might represent a more detailed key figure that includes the customer region dimension, allowing for more granular planning and analysis.
By having dedicated planning objects for each key figure, you can handle and analyze the data at different levels of granularity, providing more flexibility in your planning process. It allows you to focus on specific combinations of characteristics and key figures to meet your planning requirements.
It's important to note that the planning objects in IBP are not the same as CVCs in APO DP. While CVCs in APO DP represent the combinations of characteristics for demand planning, IBP's planning objects encompass a broader range of planning activities and can include multiple key figures and additional attributes beyond product and customer.
Overall, the concept of planning objects in SAP IBP provides flexibility in defining the combinations of key figures and characteristics that you want to plan, allowing for different levels of granularity and analysis in your planning process.
