Hi Gurus,

I have a below requirement with my client , with your help - want to understand whether this requirement can be met or not

Company needs to collaborate with outsourced manufacturers (production orders or purchase orders) and logistics providers (carriers).

In detail: Company will send purchase orders to their vendor for manufacturing the furniture goods and they want to trace that whole process until they receive delivery from the vendor. And, also part of that purchase order company can ask their manufacturing vendor to send it to their customer as well and remaining quantity should be sent to their warehouse. This whole process should be traced for freight or ocean carriers as well.

What are the benefits and limitations with this tool. Please share your thoughts on this.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Bhagavan,

In my opinion, SNC can cater to your client's requirement. I would like to answer by dividing your requirement in 3 parts:

1. Company will send purchase orders to their vendor for manufacturing the furniture goods and they want to trace that whole process until they receive delivery from the vendor.

This scenario can be build up using Work Order collaboration in SNC. As you have specific requirement of tracking each process at vendor's end, work order collaboration scenario will be ideal for you.

For this scenario to be effective, your vendor / partner should be technically capable and willing to trigger messages for each process.

2.This whole process should be traced for freight or ocean carriers as well.

This can be done using ASN collaboration scenario. Supplier should be able to fill carrier details with BOL and other shipping details.

3. And, also part of that purchase order company can ask their manufacturing vendor to send it to their customer as well and remaining quantity should be sent to their warehouse.

I am not so sure about the third part, but I can say this can be catered through minimum custom development. The PO can be re-triggered to transmit the quantity break up and different Ship-to-Location to Supplier.

Hope this will be helpful.
