Hello EWM experts,
After I have set the TECO status in the production order, I can only see the Single-order staging stock in the application Clear Production Supply Area.
Then, after I have closed the production order (status CLSD), I can only see the Cross-order staging stock.
Is this the normal behavior of the system?
I thought we should be able to see the Single-order and Cross-order stock after setting the status to TECO.
This seems to create extra unnecessary steps during operation since we have to split the operation into 2.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi,
yes, this is the standard behavior. There is a differentation between single-order and cross-order staging. AFAIK there is a BAdI you can use to influence that.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Is there any SAP documentation on this and the logic behind it? All the SAP documentation I have read on API indicates Clear PSA as a step that occurs after manufacturing order completion, before manufacturing order closure.

To be able to clear PSA after closure is fine, but not to be able to do it before doesn't seem to make sense to me. I don't quite understand why orders would need to be closed before stock that is in the PSA without any released order can be returned to the warehouse.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for your answer Juergen.
It is nice to have BADIs, but I guess it can be a bit frustrating to have a standard system behaviour that contradicts SAP documentation as well as to have to maintain custom code for such simple requirements. In my opinion, such options should be customising settings rather than addressed through BADis. Just my 2 cents.
Yes, that's standard behavior.
And yes, there's clearly a difference. Also note that for cross-order staging, you should specify the requirement date. Previously the date selection worked the wrong way around (correction was provided via note) - the correct date selection is to specify the date before which no open production order requirement exists. Therefore, you can also clear the PSA for stock with an open requirement if you set the requirement date to a date in the past. This may be useful in cases where the TECO status is set with some delay after production. - Just in case anyone wonders 🙂
