Hi Experts,
I am experiencing an issue where a change is made to the Quota values in a quota arrangement (via MEQ1) but the planned order creation after the change does not appear to work correctly. The problem appears that some residual quantity remains in the Allocated quantity field and this is then redistributed when MRP reads the quota arrangement.
Example
Product A has a quota arrangement with a Quota of 50 for production version ABCD and a Quota of 50 for production version ZYXW.
There are demands for 100,000 units in the system
The allocated quantity for each PV in the Quota is 75,000 units.
So there is a residual 50,000 units (2 x 75,000 - 100,000) in the allocated quantity.
When MRP is run the planned orders are evenly split between the two production versions.
If I now change the Quota to be 80 for ABCD and 20 for ZYXW and run MRP.
The residual quantity appears to still be applied so the planned orders are initially all for production version ABCD, then after the system equalises itself they go to an 80/20 ratio. It appears that as the historical distribution of the PV's was 50/50 the system now uses ABCD 100% until an 80/20 ratio for the whole horizon is reached.
I have tried MEQB to process the revision. I have also tried Edit > Base Quantities > Collective Calculation and Edit > Reset (in MEQ1) to try and have the new quota percentage applied immediately irrespective on the history.
The only way I can make the new quota arrangement percentages to be applied to current and future demands is to delete the quota arrangement with MEQ7 and then creating a new one. Am I missing something? Can anyone explain where the residual quantity in the quota arrangement comes from and why it would be redistributed upon an update?
Thanks in Advance,
Jez

Hello Jez
You can use the field Quota Base Quantity to compensate for the allocated quantity.

Thanks Caetano,
I did run Edit > Base Quantities > Collective Calculation from the menu which actually filled in the Quota base quantity for me, I had expected this to balance the quota arrangement so it would only account for active supply in the calculations going forward, but there still appeared to be a substantial time buffer before the planned orders were generated in the ration specified in the QUOTA fields. Should I just manually add a balance in the field to ensure that with the allocated quantities the ratio of Allocated + Base matches the QUOTA field? Also do you know what historical data feeds the allocated quantity? (This is just out of interest rather than helping fix the issue).
Ultimately I am going to suggest to my user base to delete the quota arrangement and create a new one when changing the percentages as I believe asking them to create balance records in the Base Quantity will never be done correctly.
