Change quantity in sales order after carrier assignment

Hello,

In case i change target quantity in the sales order knowing that i have credit limit check and that i have assigned a carrier to the freight order, the freight units disappear from the freight order; which means there is nothing to transport. but the issue is that the status of the tendering is closed and carrier awarded(carrier will come to the plant, though he has nothing to transport), is there any option that will let know the carrier to not come?
