Dear Experts,
We wanted to check the feasibility in standard SAP TM 9.4, if we plan to change the source location of the Freight Order, we also wish that this source location also gets passed in to the assigned FUs to the freight order. Is that possible?
Example :
Before Change
FO -->Source Location A --> Destination Location B
assigned FU -->Source Location A ---> Destination Location B
Post Change -We intend to change the Source Location of FO to (lets say) C, hence we wish that post change ,
FO - Source Location C-->Destination Location B
assigned FU -Source Location C-->Destination Location B
We also came across a help reference for SAP TM 9.4 help topic "Location Changes" but it refers to example in which the intermediary locations are added into FO stages and that gets passed to FUs. But our requirement is to influence the source location of FO and change the source location of the assigned FUs accordingly/ overwritten.

Hi Sanjiivv,
Can you explain why you need this kind of functionality? Is this a sales order, purchase order, or STO?
As you've described so far, it doesn't make sense within the conceptual framework of SAP Transportation Management. The FO is like a truck carrying a product (P1) from A to B. If you change the FO's source location to C, so that the truck is carrying a product (P2) from C to B. How did the product P1 change its location from A to C and become product P2? Changing the source location of the FU would imply changing the source location of the original OTR/DTR. This is not allowed. You would need a new OTR/DTR for a new FU with the new source location.
Alternatively, you could use a custom enhancement to modify this on the FU directly, but it may cause more data inconsistencies during validations.
Best regards,
Joseph
