Capacity Usage for demand based on resource at different Production Location

Hello Everyone,

We have a business case, where we have multiple plants in different company code in a single area due to local taxation laws.

In there the demand for FG1 in received at Plant P1 in Company code C1 and some times at Plant P2 in Company code C2 as the final shipment of the finished goods to customer will be done from plant P1 or P2.

But the resources for producing these products are available at available at Plant P2 in Company code C2 and Plant P3 in Company Code C3.

Once these products are produced at P2 & P3 they are then transported to P1 or P2 for final shipment from P1 or P2.

In ECC routing for the FG1 are created in same manner where work center from P2 & P3 are assigned in the routing of FG1 in plant P1 and P2.

Now we want to calculate the capacity usage during Infinite heuristics run in IBP S&OP process of individual resources of P2 & P3 for the FG demands from P1 and P2. How can we achieve this.

Regards,

Mukesh

Hello Mukesh

So your scenario is demand is gettting propagated to P1 and P2, but P1 doesnt have resource to manufacture the SKU as th resource are in P2 and P3 plants only. So below is my approach

1) You need to have TLANES from P3 >>> P1>>>DC1 and P2>>>DC1.

2) You have your routing at P1 but their are resources assigned to it that belong to P3 plant.

3) You need to add LOCID in the MDT production source Item and production source resource.

4) now for each operation in the production source Item MDT update the respective plant. Do the same for production source resource as well.

5) With this setup when you will run heuristics the capacity will be consumed based on the location resource and source id combination and you will be able to acheive the desired output.

please do let me know if you get stuck somewhere.

Hi Mukesh,

Please explore configure Cross Plant Production, I think it should meet your requirement.

Hi Mukesh,

Here is my suggestion : Setup a transportation lane between plant P1 and P2. The FG demand at P1 becomes dependent demand at P2 whereas demand directly coming at P2, becomes independent demand. Maintain resource mapping at P2. This should give you capacity usage at P2 for total demand at P1 and P2. If total production demand at P2 needs to be split between P2 and P3, maintain transportation lane between P2 and P3. Make sure the sum of sourcing rules (P rules and/or T rules) should be 1.

Hi Piyush,

Thanks for the suggestions. This would have worked if resource would have been available single locations. But in out routing/ Production resource, the resources are available in multiple plants. So sending demands to all these plants will possibly lead to multiple receipt for single demand.

E.g. - in the attached screen shot the demand for product P1000071151 comes to plant 4001, the routing is also available in plant 4001 but the resources assigned to the routing are from multiple plants. So we need to calculate the capacity usage for all those resources in actual at the actual location.
