Capable to Promise for Configurable Order as MTO

Hello Experts

Need help in CTP fr configurable Sales order as MTO , i tried to set up the CTP with PPDS and getting below issues

1. The Requirement Date from sales order is not Passing to PPDS to plan the supply, as whenever i changed the requested date for the order , the system always plan on particular date June 15,2020 even i changed the requested date to June 20, 2020.

2. When i saved the sales order Planned order generates with incorrect scheduling dates on June15,2020 though capacity is available before this date even , always plan on this date and tried to schedule to before this date but couldn't allow.

3 Also the Planning Log button not showing any result.

i have used planning Procedure as 3 for finished and 1st layer of component as well , as 1st level of component is also MTO material, and setting in Check instruction is used as Production Directly and not using any method of ATP check since it is MTO order.

Kindly let me know what i am missing to configure the correct scheduling in CTP with PPDS

Hello,

Did you check the log in SLG1?

Which product heuristic are you using for CTP?

Please share screen shot of check instructions customizing /sapapo/atpc07

Has recreate receipt elements set and re-create checking horizon is specified in the ATP tab of product master?

Also what is setting for planning procedure is defined,

'3 Cover Dep./Stk Tr. Requirement Immediately' or '2 Cover Dep./Stk Tr. Reqmnt Immediately If Possibe' for 'D4 Create or Change Dependent/Stock Transfer Reqrnt in PP/DS'

Hello Brahmankar,

  1. I am using product Heuristic SAP_PP_CTP
  2. Using Planning Procedure as 3 for Finished and component as well.
  3. Yes , i have set the recreate receipt element in the check instruction and horizon defined in PP/DS tab as 5 days but Not in ATP tab.

Setting in check instruction and planning procedure

  1. Check Mode is 046 used as "Characteristic Evaluation" with Business event AE in check instruction
  2. i am not using any of the ATP check method, NO ATP / NO Allocation /No Foreacst .
  3. Using as "Production Directly" in a field Start Production

i am using for procedure 3 as Cover Dep./Stk Tr. Requirement Immediately for"D4 Create or Change Dependent/Stock Transfer Reqrnt in PP/DS"

Also Using event "C3 "to perform action as "5"

Am i missing something which lead to create incorrect scheduling for Resource and incorrect schedule line,

Your help is really appreciated

Thanks

Hello,

Production Directly without any ATP if you are using then why do you need CTP or MATP?

You can plan them with normal product heuristic too, may be component level you can. As it will confirmed sales order of header FG material based on resource capacity.

As multi-level ATP check cannot be combined with CDP (Characteristics Dependent Planning).

Anyway you need to test the scenario with and without recreate receipt element horizon setting.

If the requirements date is within the re-create receipt horizon, the receipt should not be re-created when availability check is executed from sales order transaction (VA01/VA02).

Planning procedures 3 ( CTP) and 5 (multilevel ATP).

Please refer these two notes for Settings for CTP

663297 - Strategy settings for planning (documentation)

480292 - Multilevel ATP (documentation)

The planning direction should be 'backward with reversal'. The CTP check is always based on the requirements date/time. The product must be set in time for this requirements date/time. Therefore, scheduling must proceed backwards from the requirements date/time.

Hello Brahmankar,

Yes right, I mean the product is pure Make to Order, hence we don' t want to check any ATP except direct production based on Capacity of Resource.

I thought Direct Production is also setting in check instruction is part of CTP , hence i called it is CTP which basically does ATP check based on PP/DS instead of stock.

Now when sales order ATP check is performed and saved, then Receipt element " Planned order get created " as per the Capacity available on the resource , Now when the Operation for the planned order completes on End date as June 19 ,2020 , then this date should been populated as the MAD in the schedule lines, but it is not happening .

The sales order confirm on the Requested date June 12, 2020 even though when capacity for the resource is available on June 19,2020 dates.

Kindly Help on this .

Hello,

Could you please check the same scenario by checking ATP first and then production next?

Thank a lot.

I tried even with Setting of " Availability check then Production , still it shows the confirmation schedule line as of requested, the confirm schedule line should be based on Resource dates.

If possible u can share ur Email id , so i can communicate further with you .

Hello,

You can share the screen shots here too,

CTP Temporary requirement is created in /SAPAPO/RRP3 with a start date and with an end date check that date with your sales requirements.

Also test same scenario with normal MTS material and check the schedule line dates in sales order

Hello ,

I will check with MTS strategy if it works for it and let you know, i also heard that "Business Transaction" and assign to Order type is also Prerequisite for CTP to work. Is it true?

Kindly let me know in this

Thanks

Hello,

I am not sure that at "Business Transaction" and assign to Order type is also Prerequisite for CTP,

As we have CTP however we have not used it, business transaction would be used in rule-based availability check is carried out in case of rush order as per doumentation.

Or you may try by assigning Business transaction to your order type in VOV8.

Hello Brahmankar

I am able to resolve the issue now, it was having an issue with ATP group and getting the confirmed date as Resource capacity but now another problem came into for the same, the moment i click on the Full delivery Button then in ECC the schedule get changed to requested date as confirmed date instead of GATP confirmed date .

Dont know, if it standard OR need to enhance for copying the confirmed date from GATP to ECC OR something like correlation needs to be done....

Also very thankful for helping in above enquires

Kindly help

Hello,

In CTP when you perform the ATP check system create Temporary requirement in /SAPAPO/RRP3 with an end date which should be confirmation MBDAT in sales order. I don't think any modification would be needed here.

Please check bucket Logic for the ATP group is set to "Conservative?

SAP note 2538410 - CTP confirms too much and 2539533 - Missing Schedule Lines Dates after ATP check can help here please check.
