Can SHPMNT06 Trigger Delivery PGI without the SPRO Configuration Program

All,

I am trying to have a SHPMNT06 IDoc, close a shipment, and execute the PGI against the Deliveries. I can only get it to Close the Shipment.

Using the SPRO/Configuration

Logistics Execution > Transportation > Shipments > Define and Assign Activity

I am able to trigger the program RV56ABST after Shipment Completion. And this causes PGI of the deliveries.

However, for internal reasons we do not want to use this method. Are their segments/fields on the IDoc that I can populate to trigger this Shipment's Deliveries to PGI?

I have tried populating E1EDL18-QUALF with "PGI", which works for DELVRY03 IDocs, but it does not work for the SHPMNT06. I do not see what segment or field would do this using WE60 on the SHPMNT06.

Short answer is "no". SHPMNT... IDocs are for the shipments. PGI can be triggered by DLVRY... IDocs.

IDoc is just a method of entering the data, that's all. E.g. with a cash register you can either use a keyboard or a scanner. Same with online transactions and IDocs. IDocs don't have any magical functionality.
