Can OBP Response plan on Month level ?

Hi OBP experts,

In the Planning area 7F(OBP) we have Planning levels in Days, what if we make it to a Month only? Will there be any inconsistencies in the result from the Heuristics or Optimizer point?

From planning perspective , IBP will consider the month as a day as there would be no lower lever time attribute. But you will have to ensure the subsequent processes where the results are consumed.

Can you please share some more details on this topic ? What we saw is "Day" level Cost KFs were not giving expected results doing above steps for optimizer, so similarly is there any impact on Finite Heuristics ?

Rahul,

I would recommend you to change the time profile manually and make the day represent a month Start Date as 1st of month and End date as last Day of month remove other levels like Day , Tech Week and Cal Week. It should work.

Hi Rahul,

OBP Optimizer plans only at daily level (Telescopic planning is on IBP Roadmap for end of this year). Even if you create KF at month level, optimizer will still consider them at day level only (1st day of the week / 1st day of the month etc)

OBP Heuristic can plan at week/month level, I think you can setup periodicity at "settings for order based planning app"

Thanks Girish, rightly pointed.

So you mean there will be no functionality impact in the case of Finite Heuristics, the idea is to save/create records at month level(moving planning level root of Day -> Month) so that OBP won't face performance issues due to processing more records.
