Can i prevent a MM booking if the automatic WM transport order runs into an error

Here is my situation in SAP LE-WM:

I am doing an MM booking (f.e. goods issue) that creates automatically an WMTOID Idoc which is sent to an automated warehouse.

If there is the case that the transport order can not be created automatically, (f.e. not enough material in the storage bin) is there a possibility to stop also the MM booking? At the moment the MM booking is done, but the transport request stays in the system and has to be generated manually into an transport order.

Thank you

Hello @dispo1

That you cannot do because goods issue posting in MM and transfer order creation in WM are two different, independent operations. They don't even have to follow each other immediately - you can create a transfer order later on, much later than MM posting.

The standard process of goods issue handing in WM is thus not a perfect one as first MM issue is posted, so the stock is already reduced, but the picking in WM is executed only subsequently. The process doesn't work like that in real life. In real life picking always precedes goods issue posting and stock reduction.

To get around that you can create a transfer requisition first, create a transfer order against TR and post goods issue as the last step of the process. That is how standard outbound delivery picking works. Here an outbound delivery works as a transfer requisition. Transfer orders are created against the outbound delivery and finally once picking is done, goods issue is posted.

Hi Dominik, thanks for your answer. The reason I am doing this is because i am using WM as a blackbox. I only need it to send the Idocs to the automated warehouse to have it in the task backlog. Maybe there is antoher workaround.

Hi @dispo1

I don't think there is another workaround besides creating TR and TO before GI as I've already mentioned.

Cheers
