Dear All,
I am Master Student in Technical Logistics in University Duisburg Essen, Duisburg Currently, I am searching for an interesting topic to write my master thesis. During my Master's, I have done voluntary internship on SAP ERP / SAP TM for 6 months . Hence, I am interested in writing my master thesis in the SAP Transportation Management. But, to write an interesting master thesis to address a specific situation or a challenge, I need your help.
As I see, SAP TM is the latest development in the Transportation. I am eager to do a scientific study on an interesting topic related to SAP Transportation Management .
Your advice/suggestion is highly valuable for me.
Best Regards,

Dear shivacharan,
Hereby some suggestions:
- Besides shipper and LSP you can also set up TM as a tool for road carriers, however I think there is still some functionality missing e.g. regarding driverplanning or digital Tachograph interface. So a comparison between SAP TM and other road carrier planning tools would be a nice case.
- Some SAP customers have gathered already a lot of historical data. What I think is a very nice research topic is to be enable to simulate with this data. E.g. How much transportation costs can be saved if the opening hours of are customers are not from 8.00 - 16.00 but from 6.00.- 18.00? Or how much CO2 reduction/increase can be achieved if we use semi-trailers instead of single box-trucks? How many miles can be saved if we build an extra hub on location X?
- To which extend can SAP TM support last-mile planning? E.g. a Retail company delivers consumer electronics to their customers homes. To which extend can SAP TM help to make appointments, update customers when there is delay? Reschedule the route? Invoice customer when they are not present at the agreed time?
Good luck with you thesis!!
