Can I develope my own hana applcation for IBP?

Hi Experts,

If i have thousand of users and I want to create it in IBP . Is there any application where I can use it and create all users in IBP directly and assigning them the desired roles..?

If not can I develope my own application to create users in IBP and assign them roles from excel sheets.

Hi,

You can create the users in IBP as follows,

Provide access to users via SAP Cloud Platform Identity Authentication service, which is delivered with SAP Integrated Business Planning.

1. Create the employees in the Maintain Employees app.
2. Create the business users based on the employees in the Maintain Business Users app.
3. Download the list of users into a CSV file using the Download button in the Maintain Business Users app.
4. Log on to the Identity Authentication Administration Console and open the Import Users app.
5. Upload the CSV file.

Users created by template but you can not assign business roles to a user at the same time, need to adjust the business roles based on requirement and this activity is manual.

SAP IBP application is a cloud product. Third-party software and custom build applications do not support your requirement.

Hi Piyush,

Please refer to Lingaiah response on how is the current import process. Now, coming to your question on "develop your own application to create users in IBP and assign them roles from excel sheets" - this is not supported as IBP is a Cloud product. You may suggest the creation of this app though via the IBP Influence Channel so it can be considered for future releases:

You can upload employee and its create business users automatically . you can go to app employee and download template that shows all the details. when you upload the details it will create employee and business user. If you use single sign on and do setup then no need upload in SCI . How to know what role you want to assign as I understand this activity will remain as part of security

Right. Template would help me to create business users but I also want to add roles column in same kind of template and upload it as is.. So that 1)It will create business users 2) It assigns desired roles to created business users.
