Calling User Exit in SNP CTM

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement as detailed below.

The supply chain is multi-echelon. The product nature is MTO. The demand is captured in UOM 'Each'.  The finished product has a bill of material of a returnable packing material and an actual sellable product measured in 'concentration'. This concentration reduces progressively day-by-day. The sales order carries the date of requirement at customer place and concentration required on a date of measurement. The supplier needs to back calculate the concentration, considering all his lead-times, and derive packing date, nearest dispatch date and concentration on packing day.

As the client has demand prioritization and production resource constraints, CTM is planned as RCCP solution. If user exit BAdI is created, how best we can call this BAdI and when can we call the same?

Regards,

Raghav

Hi Raghavendra,

The Badi in CTM could be called either before CTM run or after CTM run when results are written.

Example BAdI /SAPAPO/CTM_SOSINT is used to change the attributes of the sources of supply for in-house production that CTM requires for planning. These changes are temporary changes for that run but not to master data itself (example).

On the other hand BAdI /SAPAPO/CTM_ORDERS, we can change the attributes of the orders before they are created in the liveCache.

So in your case you can call the badi before or after depending upon what do you want to do and what results do you expect.

Hi Rahul,

Thank you for your inputs. I am looking at using BAdI SAPAPO/CTM_ORDERS as an option, and update you once completed. Just one more clarification, suppose I make a set of custom defined time series key figures with  custom defined demand category elements; available for CTM. These key-figures will have variable dependent demand (user exit BAdI called through a macro). Will CTM consider these values for calculating the supply requirements?

Cheers!

Hi Raghavendra,

If your macro is calculating some numbers on the basis of certain logic and values are available then of course it would consider the same (if this has been done in SNP).

On the other hand if you are executing these macros in DP, then just release your forecast against these custom categories accordingly and it would be considered. Make sure you don't restrict demand in CTM profile on planning scope tab.

Let me know if it answered your question.

Rahul
