Hello

Iam learning SAP EWM. Could not understand bin sorting. For eg if I have one Aisle, three racks and one level only in warehouse . My storage bins are for example created as follow ( six nos). Now does sorting means system need to re-arrange the following six bins in ascending or descending order or does sorting also means re-arranging racks , aisles and level. For eg i have bin created as FAST-01-03-01 below. But after sorting , can system will make it FAST-01-01-03 ? but i have one level only ?

FAST-01-01-01

FAST-01-02-01

FAST-01-03-01

FAST-01-01-02

FAST-01-02-02

FAST-01-03-02

Q2 )What could be the result of sorting of above six bins ? If someone can indicate ?

regards

Sonu,

Bin sorting is for the purpose to define your physical sequence of activities - e.g. how you pick (which bin first, 2nd, 3rd, etc) - it will use the sequence number to define it. Sorting will not change any storage bin name. Make sure you read some SAP help.

Hi,

there is only one recommendation: test it.

And one question: do you understand what sorting is used for?

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!
