We have an existing products with available qty in specific storage type. Then for batch enablement we are using conversion tool to convert the product as batch managed in EWM. But after the conversion batches are reflected in physical stock and not in available stock. And when i check the particular storage type it have a parameter: Avail. Qty: Batches as neutral. when i try to change it to batch specific then it is not allowing.

Hi,

"And when i check the particular storage type it have a parameter: Avail. Qty: Batches as neutral. when i try to change it to batch specific then it is not allowing."

I guess "is not allowing" means that there is an error message, isn't it? And I would think the error message says that changing this is not allowed when there is stock.

So the solution would be to empty the storage type first before trying to change this setting.

All the above is no official SAP statement.

Want to learn EWM?

Check for EWM courses: https://training.sap.com/trainingpath/Applications-Extended+Warehouse+Management-EWM+in+S4HANA

Get a SAP Learning Hub Subscription: https://training.sap.com/learninghub

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!

And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Thanks for the reply Juergen,

But is there any program or SAP suggested solution to change the indicator in mass. Because we have lots of storage type in the warehouse.

Hi,

"But is there any program or SAP suggested solution to change the indicator in mass."

When searching with the error message you get when trying to change this field, I could not find anything. Another search led me to SAP note "2875030 - Changed level of EWM available stock in the Storage type", which refers to the other field for the level of availability, and I am pretty sure the same information is valid. What the note says:

"Please note that you should absolutely never change the Availablity Level as long as the Storage Type is having stocks or HUs on it. Usually, when you want to change the Level of Availability, please do the following steps:

1) Completely remove all stocks and HUs for that storage type (all bins must be empty) to a temporary storage type

2) Delete all bins

3) Change the Customizing

4) Re-create the storage bins

5) Move back HUs and product into storage type."

So I guess that is the solution.

This is a change which clearly affects tables very deeply. There is no simple change in that.
