Batch Determination while picking in EWM (Embedded)

Hi All,

I am using S4 HANA 1709 version with embedded EWM.

I am trying to find out, while picking, how exactly batch determination happens in EWM.

We need to have batches determined in EWM (not assign in outbound delivery in ERP).

I know, only selection criteria is required in ERP outbound delivery for this process. This selection criteria flows to Outbound delivery order in EWM and then determination happens.

But how exactly I can create this selection criteria? Should I configure entire SD batch management process?

Is there any document which describes this entire process?

Hi PV S, 2. How can I change expiry date of batches in EWM? If I change via MSC2N, then it is not reflecting in EWM stocks.

Via the Warehouse Management Monitor, Stock and Bin >> Physical Stock>> Select the line with your changed batch in the More methods drop-down, select Repair Batch Attributes. Note: in my experience, it is one at a time as the select all does not work for me.

Hello PV S,

if you want to pick batches with specific attributes, for example a specific Country of Origin or an earliest/ latest Shelf Life Expiration Date, you need to configure the batch handling in the SD process. The process should be configured so that you can enter the batch selection criteria in SD (more typical use case) or in the LE delivery but does not determine the batch.

When EWM does the stock determination for the outbound delivery order, the system compares the possible stock for picking with the batch selection criteria and creates the warehouse task for a matching batch.

Alternative: Adapt the stock removal strategy to your requirements. In addition to the customizing there is a set of BAdIs. Depending on your requirements you might be able to develop something that fits without using the batch selection criteria in SD/ LE.

1. In embedded EWM, is it required to create class with class type 230 and 231?

2. How can I change expiry date of batches in EWM? If I change via MSC2N, then it is not reflecting in EWM stocks.
