Hi Friends,
We are using SAP APO PPDS for detailed scheduling and sequencing orders. We convert the Planned order to PP order in APO system. During the conversion system checks for availability of components at the plant/storage location level.
We have a requirement where components in mnfg. orders (Planned & PP) are batch managed and the value of of some specific characteristic in the batch (say "Grain Size") decides the suitability of component to be used to make the final product - Small /medium/ big products based on weight.
We want to use CDP of APO to meet this requirement.
- The component in the routing will be classified to identify the "Grain size" requirement - Small/ medium /big.
- The batch classification data for components would be CIFFed over from ECC to APO
- During ATP check while converting order in APO, we want the system to search for available batches of component with matching "Grain size".
I would like to know, whether the above is possible?
(I read in SAP help portal, that batch classification in APO works only for sales orders & deliveries and NOT for PP orders)
Request clarification before answering.
