Any leads will be highly appreciated

Hi AbhijitGoswami

Could you describe your use case and what you want to do?

Have you already deleted the materials? Are you trying to archive the history?

If there are dependencies, you may not be able to archive until you archive the dependencies.

For example, see this example about material documents:

https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/32da8359c8ee4e8b8e8c5e15cacba5aa/fa0d8922a2264fca812cdd6d...

If you are asking how to do archiving in general, you will need to look at ILM. You would need to setup Audit Areas, Policies, pick the object, etc

https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/a630d57fc5004c6383e7a81efee7a8bb/3c9d33dde6154f71863f9942...

The scope item is 1KA

Thank you

Jerry

Thanks for your answer.

The scenario I am looking for is, some materials are not in use for now and they don't have any dependency also so archiving those to stop from use as of now. However I suppose ILM will allow me to retrieve those materials later when I need those materials to be used.

Hi AbhijitGoswami

I would recommend to fully review the ILM/Archive options.

You would likely not be able to bring them back into the system from the Archive. You should be able to view the archived records with the Archive Explorer app

There are few apps that can look into the archive, but they have to have that functionality, for example

Display Billing Document (VF03)
Manage Supplier Line Items (FBL1N)
Display Document Flow (F3665)
DisplayPurchase Order Advanced

I think very few (PO) can bring them back from the archive.

So if you intend to use them later, I would recommend not to archive them.

Thank you

Jerry
