3.We run the heuristic SAP_PP_002 with following settings:
Lot-size is not flagged in the heuristic settings.
When we run these heuristic we see that the safety days of supply of 2 day are not considered.
Example: Requirement date is 12.9.18 (Wednesday) but the receipt date is 11.9.18. According to the 2 days of the safety days of supply and the planning calendar (without gaps) below on the right, the receipt date should be 10.9. - Monday (12-2=10).
none of the SL is fixed. I ask myself why the SL with end nr 36 has been scheduled with receipt date on the 11.9. to cover requirements on the 12.9.? Is it because the last requirement covered by this SL “36” is on the 14.9.?14.9.-2 days of supply is 12.9. = planning calendar period 11-12.9. due to period factor used “0” the schedule line has to be scheduled at the beginning of the period = 11.9. 00. This I could understand that way..but is my way of thinking correct?
My assumption when working with safety days of supply in APO PPDS is that the receipt element will be created before the requirement date in as many days as the safety days of supply is defined and according to the planning calendar…Having said that and considering here a periodic lot size = "1 period" the results of the heuristic should be:
At the beginning of each period a schedule line should be created that covers the demand of that period.
Due to the safety days of supply of 2 days the schedule line should be scheduled 2 days before the requirement date in PPDS. If the new date is not in the beginning within the (calendar) period, the SL will be “moved” to the beginning of that period due to period factor “0”.
