APO/PPDS Block Planning using one class for multiple resources

I like to setup APO/PPDS Block Planning and using one class for multiple resources as kind of generic Class/Characteristics. Now I see in the PDS - Activities, Modes without a related production version in ECC.

- Material A, PV on Resource R1 only, Class 1 BLOCK1
- Material B, PV on Resource R2 only, Class 1 BLOCK1

Material A in PPDS - PDS - 1 Activity with 2 Modes R1 and R2
How can I disable the Mode which is not used or how can I avoid the mode get created for a resource without production version?

Thank you and best regards

Tom

Hello,

Could you please share the screen shot of PDS and routing?

Thanks a lot.

Hello,

The operation data (work center, duration) of a routing in an alternative production version is used in the CIF interface to create alternative modes for an activity. That means production alternatives that are modeled as alternative production versions can be filled.

If non scheduling-relevant control key assigned to the operation in routing or recipe . This means the control key does not have the flag "scheduling" set. Will not transfer to APO PDS.

The above described behavior is current standard. If there is a need to influence this the BAdI CUSLNTRTO_ADDIN can be used to place some own coding which changes the logic.

Hi,

thank you for this answer, the issue is I don't have an alternate resource, but a mode got created even without alternate production version. So In PP/DS I can schedule a production at a resource where I don't have a production version, because of the 2nd activity mode got created. the 2nd mode got created because I used the same Block Class/Characteristics for Material A and Material B and each material should have only one activity mode.

Does it mean that I've to use for each resource where I use block planning a own Class/Characteristics?

Thanks
