APO DP Realignment Copy- /SAPAPO/RLGCOPY

Hello Experts,

I am quite new to APO and I am working on a requirement where Business wants to switch the forecasts from old to new products for which I have proposed the Realignment copy functionality in APO DP as they have the CVC's created already for the new products. Below are the key points from the requirement,

• Ability to delete the forecast data in the source product while executing Copy from source to destination products
• Ability to switch the forecasts between two products after executing Copy/realignment

Example:

What /SAPAPO/RLGCOPY would do while executing copy between source and destination products by specifying start period from Aug-2022?

It can be seen below that the system hasn't deleted any forecasts in the source product. Instead, it has copied the values to destination product.

But the expectation from business is to cut-paste the forecasts from source to destination products, which would look like below,

There is also another requirement from business - To switch forecast again back to source product from destination product. Say, business has decided to continue with the source product for few more months and would like to swap the forecasts from destination product to source products for Aug and Sep months,

I have proposed the below solution approach which requires multiple steps to be performed but business wants to do that in a single transaction,

Step 1: Execute Copy- /sapapo/rlgcopy between source and destination products.

Step 2: Clear the KF values(forecasts) in the source product for a specific period after executing Copy. Below options can be used,

Option 1: Using distribute function in DP planning book-> All the required products can be loaded and for the specific period/ key figure, zero values can be distributed.

Option 2: Using a report program /SAPAPO/RTSINIT_KF, required key figure values can be deleted for required period(Multiple selection are possible)

Option 3: Develop a macro that can delete the particular key figure values for the selected products.

Now, business has decided to utilize the old product for few more months, so below steps can be used to copy the forecasts

Step 1: Execute /SAPAPO/RLGCOPY between New and Old products to copy the KF values(forecasts) to old product again by specifying the period(Aug and Sep ).

Step 2: Clear the KF values(forecasts) for Aug and Sep months in the New product.

Questions:

• Do we have any functionality in APO DP that can be leveraged to clear the forecasts for the specific period while executing Copy (/SAPAPO/RLGCOPY) ?
• I am thinking to combine all the above steps(First 2) mentioned in a single transaction sequentially for which I am in touch with the developers already but I would like to understand if I am going in a right way or not. Does this even make sense?
