Alternate Resource (Same Machine is operating by multiple Employee) Scheduling in PPDS

Hi Expert,

Need your expert support and suggestion on Alternate resource scenario in PPDS.

I have a scenario, where same Machine is operated by different Employee based on Employee availability. For this i created multiple Resource master in APO and included as alternate resources in PPDS PDS.

For Example,

I Have Machine M1 which is operated by different Employee E1,E2,E3 and

M2 is operated by Same Employee or different Employee i.e E2,E4

For this i created 5 resource Master with a combination of M1E1,M1E2,M1E3, M2E2 and M2E4

In Routing Operation-1, i included M1E1, M1E2 and M1E3 as a Alternate resource

and in operation-2, i included M2E2, M2E4.

Now the scenario is when an Order PO1 is planned in M1E1 Resource from current date, then other order PO2 should not planned on M1E2 or M1E3 current date , since Machine available capacity is same for all Resource.

Business requirement is that alternate Resource should not plan different orders at same time.

Do let me know if there is any standard way or can we do any custom enhancement to satisfy above requirement.

Define resource E1,E2,E3 as alternative resource.

Define 2 operations as parallel operation.

1st running on M1

2nd running on E1 --> Having alternative as E2 and E3.

Do the same setup for M2 and E2,E4 combination.

You can use the pooled Capacity between these resources as you dont want alternate Resource should not plan different orders at same time.

Hi Brahmankar,

Thanks for your information.

But here the Business process is some thing different.

They want to Plan Machine as per Employee Calendar, which means if Employee E1 is on Leave who is operating M1 then the orders has to switch to E2 who can also operate M1.

Business wants to plan both Machines and Employee together in foreground based on there availability. Here in this case, we can't define Employee as a Labor Pool capacity.

Hello,

You need to create the labor as second capacity and assigned the pool capacity between these secondary labor capacity.

If Employee E1 is on Leave who is operating M1 then the orders has to switch to E2 who can also operate M1.

You need to assign all these employee to M1 and M2 as secondary capacity. So you can schedule M1 and M2 based on scondary capacity avilability.

Thanks for the information.

but this setup is not solving my issue.

Main requirement is that, different resources (physically this resources capacity is same as one single machine but Employee who is operating this machine will be different) which is linked as a alternate resource in PDS should not plan different orders at same time.

Is there any way to enhancement this requirement, i tried all the standard way to solve this requirement.
