Additional Characterstics in length based heuristic

Hello Experts,

We are using SAP_LEN_001 heuristic for cable industry in SAP APO PPDS. We got a requirement to pass packaging type as characteristic to APO. We are already passing length ,overdeliery and under delivery tolerance.

When we are running length heuristic on a material having sales order with packaging characteristic, its getting fulfilled with stock having blank value of packaging material. Since there is no batch having the packaging material, we expect it to create a new receipt. But system is only doing pegging based on length and not considering new character.

Can any one throw some light if length based heuristic can use other characteristics as well?

Hello,

The heuristic is not able to create a planned order with different characteristic configuration only length characteristic is supported. You may check BAdi /SAPAPO/EOGL_REC_SRT BAdI for Sorting LPP Receipts and Requirements, if it helps.
