Adding a root attribute (Mode of Transport) in compound master data

I am facing an issue in adding a root attribute (Mode of Transport) in a compound master data (Customer Source and Location Source).

When I add root attribute to Customer Source and Location Source master data along with its refrence & validity master data. I get the follwoing error in activation - Column MOTID cannot be added as required to table SOPMD_STAG_NC1SOURCECUSTOMER (Entity: NC1SOURCECUSTOMER, MD). Similar error comes for Location Source

I have purged the data in both master data.

Can you please help if you have faced such error?

If you deleted all data from the MD types and proceeded exactly as described in the link I had provided, I suggest you open a ticket, so that someone can have a look into your system

Did you delete master data prior to changing root attributes?

Have you purged the related planning levels as well?, where the MD type is used in? Configuring Planning Levels for Modes of Transport describes the necessary steps you need to execute

Yes, I had perged the master data as well as the transaction data. Once I purged the whole PA and still faced the issue.

I will try it again in a new PA without any data.
