ABC, XYZ Analysis in IBP

Hi, we are new in SAP IBP and just went live.

Would like to understand if we have ABC/XYZ configuration supported in SAP IBP or SAP S/4 Hana. It is not activated in our new IBP system and when asked, we get a reply from the consultant that it is to be calculated outside IBP in excel and to be uploaded in S/4 Hana Product master which gets extracted to SAP IBP. Doesn't sound logical. Why does such a robust system like SAP IBP expect basic ABC, XYZ calculation to be done in excel, outside of it and only work when it is fed back. All the fields to calculate are already in SAP IBP or S/4. Any expert help in activating the setup for ABC, XYZ analysis?
