aATP ABC set-up not confirming orders

Hello everyone,

We have planned to consider #aATP Alternative Based Confirmation functionality for our project. Have configured substitution strategy (Full confirmation), alternative determination and alternative control. When a sales order is created (for the combination defined in the access), confirmation is showing zero. It is not showing 'original plant' filed itself in the sales order. It says delivery is not possible.

when I removed the combination from the access - Configure alternative control app (basically disable ABC), it works normal showing availability.

Am I missing something, could someone help to resolve this issue.

Hi Shilpa, have you set up Review Availability Check Result? With this you can see the intermediate result and all confirmations calculated during the ATP Check to get full insights. This often helps to answer such questions. One thought without knowing the config of Alternative Determination: If you state that only full confirmation should be allowed, then there is no delivery proposal, as it would basically be a contradiction. Could you share also your Altv. Det. setup?

Yes, I have set up Review Available to Check Result. Please find my Alternative determination set-up. It's a simple set-up with plant substitution (all possible plants) -full strategy and no hard constraints.

Access set-up

Results showing that delivery proposal is not possible for the above material.

I have tried with creating a SO when there is zero stock and some stocks as well. But no luck. 

But when I remove the material from the access above, delivery proposal is possible.

Note: This material-plant is not used in any other functionalities (like PAL, BOP).

Hi Shilpa, the last screenshot shows that ABC is not executed, which makes sense as you have removed material (or generally speaking: set it up to not find any alternative control access anymore). From the red bubble in the RACR one can see that ABC is executed but no material/plants have been checked. If there would have been a check of material/plant, then those insights would be visible in RACR (between red and gray bubble). You mentioned that you maintained Substn. Strgy with 'All possible plants'. This lead to a determination of all plants where the material is maintained (limited to the sames sales org. as the original requested plant). From that perspective you should at least get the material/plant that you find also in your second screenshot (4500070/1104). I am not sure on which S/4HANA release you are, but there is with 2023 FPS 2 the possibility to activate a logging to find more details. Otherwise, I recommend to open an incident to address it. Would be happy if you can share the solution 🙂

Hi Shilpa,

yes, ABC can sometimes a bit challenging to setup correctly and to find out why ABC is not running correctly.

Development team is working on a logging for this so you will get a chance to know why ABC was not executed.

For now, I can just recommend to have a look at my FAQ KBA - 2776851 FAQ: Alternative based Confirmation (ABC) with aATP - where you find a restrictions and a check list for the customizing - see question 1.

Its already a long list - but covers most of the common customizing issues.
