Can my department be charged after a 311 movement?
department XXX transfer material using 201 movement but I am not sure how I can consume the material using with the transfer of 201. I was thinking using 311 movement to change the storage location for us to be able to consume materials using our storage location.
What is the best scenario for both departments so everybody wins in a way?
Thank you for the reply.

Hi Christian,
when using 311 you are simply changing the storage location of the stock within the same plant - there are no financial documents involved. Therefore there is no "charging" of any organisational entity.
When using 201 you are actually removing (or consuming) stock, but typically you have to enter a cost center or an FI account to do so. In terms of FI-CO entering the cost center or account is the equivalent to charging your department.
Remark: there is usually no need to transfer stock with 311 before consuming with 201.
BR Andreas
