WPS: Tracing with SAT Part 2 - Start your engines!

After preparing the SAT settings for the trace as described in the last posting this week I want do share how to start the actual measurement.

To start the measurement you have to go into transaction SAT again.

In a first step you select the Settings variant as defined in the last posting, then you press the "Schedule" button:

Now you see an empty list like this. To schedule a new measurement you press the create button:

This leads to to an popup like this, it is important to adapt the process type to HTTP and object type to any. And don't forget to give the measurement a meaningful name, most likely it will be followed by other measurements and then it can become difficult to distinguish them...I know what I´m talking about here :wink:

Now you created your measurement, you have an entry in the list:

Now you go and perform the step you want to measure in TM itself.

After you did this you go back to SAT and press the Switch On/Off button:

You should see something like this, of course for your user ;->

Press the green button and you are done with your measurement! How to analyze it is a topic of the next posting...

After finishing you measurement its an good idea to delete the measurement from the list of scheduled measurements, just to keep a clean desk...
