The Freight Unit is defined as the part of a transportation requirement which transported together end to end. When a freight unit stage is assigned to a capacity document, this includes the stop assignment (the stop of the freight unit is assigned to the respective stop of the freight document, e.g. loading at the second location, unloading at the 5th location of a 10 location freight order). The requirement stop (= freight unit stop) does also hold the key of the capacity item, e.g. the compartment or container the freight unit is assigned to.

However, sometimes the cargo of one freight unit or even one freight unit item needs to be distributed on different capacities, e.g. because of size limitations. This can be done using the so called local item distribution. To move parts of items towards a different capacity items, basically the quantity to be split away needs to be defined and the item can be dragged and dropped on the capacity required. This is illustrated here:

The column "Quantity to be split" in which it is defined how much quantity (the base quantity UoM is used here) is moved to the other capacity item is not part of the default fields, so you may need to add that to the visible columns.

The action can be undone by moving the split away item towards the item it was split away from or into the same capacity item.
